Morale: Don't sniff for hidden intentions

By William Markiewicz

My comments concerning Israelís protest against the present pro-Palestinian stand at the UN:

We make peace not with friends but with enemies who don't necessarily become friends. Had Rabin's spirit prevailed, friendship and spirit would be joined. Spirit is in thoughts and feelings, peace is in acts, and acts are a matter of power. Therefore no matter what the interested parties think, what they sign and what the world witnesses are more important. Conclusion: Don't look for excuses to avoid involvement in the peace process, you have nothing to win. And if the Arabs are the winning side it's the fault of the bad Israeli politicians. America is not omnipotent. In peace and democracy the UN is "more" omnipotent for the best and for the worst, like it or not.
