"World Powers" What does that mean?

By William Markiewicz

It means patronising those who are unable to resolve their own problems. The Arab World is in turmoil, entangled in religious and dynastic massacres, and continues to be peons of foreign powers who built their own dreams over the flesh of embattled Arabs. Are humanist choices considered? Unlikely. To choose between a bloody dictator and bloody Jihadists is like choosing between cholera and plague. Civil wars are the worst of wars. Czechs and Slovaks separated peacefully; Yugoslavia wanted desperately to separate in peace but the virulent anti-Serbs who held ancient grudges succeeded in preventing it. To finally stop the bloodshed, the Arabs must be able to clean their courtyard, lay their fists on the religious and secular hegemons, and to finally let the Arab masses breathe freely.
